Ai—Artificial Intelligence

Description:

Using AI to help produce videos. Whether it is the ideation for the video, the script, or any of the effects within the video itself, we’re coming to a point where AI can be used to speed up lots of processes within the creation of your mograph, but that doesn't mean that it will replace us. It is still quite odd the sorts of videos that these models can produce, and really we need to be given more control. We will not be replaced by these and should just see them as tools to help the process. If you've ever used the rotoscoping brush in After Effects or the magic wand in Photoshop, it really is the same kind of logic, as both of these are basically AI tools, and we've been using them for years.

Use: I am very aware that this is a massively controversial topic though and the problems regarding copyright and the climate are aspects that should always be considered when using these tools. Please do further research before you go using them. Not that I try to make any of these subjective, but personally I am not a fan of using AI to do all of the keyframing or speeding up the process or cutting corners in the work produced. Motion Graphic work is too specific in terms of the message to be able to trust an AI to produce a video. But using it to help with certain tasks such as script writing, or ideation is probably a better route to go. I cannot draw or illustrate all that well, however having access to a tool that helps speed that process up for me so I can focus on the parts I am good at, does sound like a better way of looking at it.

It will probably be used in the way that stock is used in the future. You will pay for certain elements of the video to be made, and pay more for them to be editable.

Genre: Style

I could load this up with AI examples that put it all to shame, specially with the growing amount of rubbish that is on YouTube. So I have left these from Corridor Crew, as they show how much work has gone into all of this and use various tools to create the videos. Also, the music video is pretty cool.
