Changing Aspect Ratio

Description:

Changing the aspect ratio from a standard size (16:9) to another size. This is a somewhat subtle effect used to help draw the eye into the middle of the screen by cropping off a chunk of the top and bottom of the screen.

Use: Use this to help draw the eye into the middle of the screen. It also signifies a change in the style of the film. This could be going from a drama film to an action sequence.  Do not over use, and importantly, make sure it has meaning.
