Drop It Like Its Hot

Description:

When the subject of the piece (usually abstract) drops in from above and hits the floor with impact. This is separated into two parts:

The drop – Make sure this is about 1 – 2 seconds long, long enough to take in, but short enough not to linger. This has to hit quickly! Make sure your background is moving in the opposite direction to the subject so it actually feels like it is moving through space.

The hit – This is when it hits the floor or target. add wave effects, screenshake and motion blur for extra impact to give it that real umph. This can then either lead onto another idea or build on the idea with a domino effect. (The hit causes something else to happen...)

Use: Use this at the start of the piece as an introduction to something. It’s used to grab attention, and start a concept or idea with a bang.
