Description:

Adding eye to something turns it into a character regardless of whether it has any character or not.

Use: Adding eyes to any sort of object gives it an element of personalisation, wackiness, and adds a little fun and character to an object. Eyes are one of the more expressive parts of the body, and really just adding a pair of these lets the viewer know how whatever object could be feeling. It creates a connection between the audience and the character.

Great examples of this kind of design can be found in Banjo Kazooie and Yooka Laylee.
