Description:
Cutting up the screen into grids, most of the time it is used to show off two or three or even four different scenes at once. It's important that the sections are calculated in terms of their size to ensure that they feel right in terms of compositional balance. In other words either use the fibonacci sequence to calculate the size, or halve it or divide it to create an equal number. You also have to consider the outlining of the grids too. Be careful about overloading your viewers with information, they can really focus on one thing at a time, so showing lots of stuff all at once can be overwhelming.
Use: Use this to show off more than one concept or related topics to a scene or show at once, in some cases it can be used to tell a very short story. It can also be used as a transition to fill the screen and lead the viewer into the next scene, like in the xmen video. It can also be used as a way of showing the features of a product like in the Sony advert.
