Description:
Stop motion animation is a form of animation where all your objects are real objects. It's all analogue and all your assets are not digital- to an extent (I mean there is usually vfx involved)
Stop motion animation is usually done with plasticine as it is easy to sculpt, rig and style, and rigid enough for it to stay still while you're taking a photo. Speaking of which, everything is snapped on a camera and then arranged in the edit as the sequence. This is made a lot easier using software such as Dragonframe.
Use: Use this as a style of animation. This style of animation is quite time consuming and therefore expensive. But the finished result is more authentic in terms of how it feels and how grounded it actually is, when you think that everything in the scene is a real object and that some of the action that is going on, has been modelled, and positioned add a lot of value to the craft itself.
