Description:
The synthwave style came from a retro 80s feeling with elements of modern-ness thrown in. The whole style is to spark nostalgia for anyone born in the 70’s and 80’s. Colours are kept to pinks and blues. Reflective materials in the 3D along with an emphasis on neon lights. There is always some form of sunset, which is a sun, with lines cutting through it, this is sometimes animated. Also Palm trees. Don’t forget those. It’s all about the feeling of walking down a boardwalk in Miami or LA. Use triangles in the titles, Japanese cities also spark inspiration. Lots of neon signs and screens. Oh, and grain and noise are a go to for this style too to really push the gritty feel.
Use: Use this style for a whole video. It is quite niche, so make sure your target audience are born in the 70s or 80s. Use this when it is suitable. It may look cool and all, but it’s so specific that it’s not always going to be the right style to go with.
